Access & Policy Statement

Access to the Archives collection is provided through the Reference Reading Room of the Missouri State Archives. Information regarding materials and use may be obtained from reading room staff.

 

HOURS

 

Hours of business are:

 

Monday,Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday - 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thursday - 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Archives is closed the following holidays:

 

New Year's Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Washington’s Birthday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veteran’s Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas.

 

USE OF RECORDS

Many county and municipal records are available on microfilm and can be viewed in the Microfilm Viewing Room, accessible through the Reading Room. A limited selection of printed works is available in the Reading Room to aid genealogists and other researchers.

Historical records from the Archives stack area may be used in the Reading Room. Advance request must be made for use of records from the stacks on Thursday evenings, Saturdays, and holidays.

Copies may be obtained of most records; archivists will determine whether original records may be copied due to age and fragility.

Archives tours are available by prior arrangement.
