U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen led an all-star set of presenters, which included U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt. Secretaries of State from across the country brought together some of the nation's top election security experts for a two-day National Election Security Summit on September 10-11, 2018. The Summit was hosted by Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft, and was held at World Wide Technology’s global headquarters in St. Louis.

National, state and local election authorities joined officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Election Assistance Commission, Elections Infrastructure — Information Sharing and Analysis Center, security professionals, election experts, and other industry leaders to learn and share tangible best practices. These security discussions provided attendees useable steps to mitigate threats and vulnerabilities as election authorities gear up for the 2018 mid-term elections.
